Our calendar sponsors play a vital role in helping the Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust continue its conservation work, protecting one of the Island’s most loved native species.
We’re delighted to introduce our August Calendar Sponsor, D&S Carpets, the Island’s carpet and flooring superstore, based in Newport. Since opening their doors back in 2011, David Brown and Stuart Dall have built up a business the whole Island turns to when it’s time for a new carpet, floor, or rug and we’re so grateful for their support.
Tell us a little about your business, what you do, where you’re based, and who you help
D&S Carpets is based at 12 Hurstake Road on the Riverway Industrial Estate, Newport. Opened in October 2011 by Directors David Brown, with over 25 years’ experience in the flooring trade, and Stuart Dall, bringing more than 30 years in customer service, the pair have grown D&S from a small operation into the Island’s go-to flooring superstore.
Today, their huge Newport showroom stocks over 300 rolls of flooring: carpets, vinyls, luxury vinyl tiles, laminate, wood and natural flooring, plus rugs, underlay and matting, helping homes and businesses right across the Isle of Wight find exactly the right finish for every room.
Why did you choose to sponsor a month in our calendar?
We’re proud to be part of the Island community, and supporting a local charity doing such important work for our native wildlife felt like the right thing to do.
What does supporting local wildlife or conservation mean to you or your business?
As a business that’s grown up here on the Island over the last 15 years, we feel a real responsibility to put something back into the community and the environment that’s supported us along the way.
What is your favourite thing about red squirrels or the Island’s natural environment, and why?
There’s something special about knowing the Isle of Wight is one of the last places in England where red squirrels are still thriving. It’s a real point of Island pride, and exactly the kind of thing worth protecting for future generations.
What’s coming up for your business in the year ahead?
