It’s Here! Our HOT OFF THE PRESS 2027 Red Squirrel Calendar

Jul 15, 2026 | Calendar Sponsors, News

There’s a particular kind of excitement that comes with a box of calendars landing on the doorstep, still warm from the printer, and last week we got to feel it all over again.  Our 2027 Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust calendar is officially printed, boxed, and ready for its new homes on kitchen walls across the Island (and well beyond!).  NB: Your calendar will not show the PROOF watermark visible in the images in this post.

Twelve months, twelve glorious red squirrels, and not one single grey in sight. What more could you ask for?

A Calendar Full of Character

Every year we’re blown away by the photographs our community sends in, and this year is no exception.  From squirrels mid-leap to squirrels mid-snack (there’s rather a lot of snacking, if we’re honest), the 2027 calendar is a proper celebration of just how much personality these little russet residents pack into a day.

We’re especially chuffed to be able to name and thank the talented photographers behind these images, several of whom are Trust volunteers, supporters, and friends who’ve been quietly building up a stunning back catalogue of squirrel portraits over the years.

Our Calendar Photographers: Chris Mirehouse, Helen Butler MBE, Tanya Rock, Ian Groves, Mick Harris, Martin Blackmore, Debbie Hart, Terri May Cook, Sue Sibley, Rachel Cobb, Darren Harris, Pamela Parker, and our front cover photographer, Les Gladdis.  Between them they’ve captured squirrels leaping through the canopy, drinking from woodland pools, tucking into hazelnuts, and generally being the most photogenic residents the Island has to offer.

A huge thank you to every one of these photographers for so generously donating their images.  It’s their patience (and no doubt a fair few cold, damp mornings spent very still in the woods and gardens) that makes this calendar the treat it is.

Thank You to Our Wonderful Sponsors

A calendar like this doesn’t happen by magic, and we’re enormously grateful to the local businesses whose sponsorship makes it possible every year. Please do show them some love back if you can.

Our Calendar Heroes: Little House on the Wight, Briddlesford Farm, Biscoes Solicitors, Bembridge Fort Trust, Isle of Wight Mushroom Culture, Bonchurch Pottery, Squirrels Den Collectables, Beardsalls Print, Design & Sign, The Squirrel’s Rest, Crumb Pact, Tipsy Wight, and Gurit.

A word of warning though, these calendars have a habit of selling out fast, and this print run is limited, so if you know you do want one (or five, for stocking fillers), we’d say don’t leave it too long!

Every calendar sold goes straight back into our work at Howes Wood and beyond, funding path-building, tree work, monitoring, and all the day-to-day essentials of protecting the Island’s red squirrels. So really, it’s a present for you, and a present for them too.

Thank you, as ever, for being part of our red squirrel family.  Here’s to a bright, bushy-tailed 2027.

Want to get more involved? We’re always looking for volunteers, event helpers, and calendar champions willing to spread the word. If you would like to help with this then please get in touch at admin@iowredsquirreltrust.co.uk , or drop us a whatsapp to 07746 573707
