It is with great sadness that we must inform you that one of our long-standing trustees, John Gurney-Champion, has passed away aged almost 101.
John had been a supporter virtually since Helen started in the early 1990’s and then became a trustee in 2005, carrying out the legal work setting up The IOW Red Squirrel Trust with the Charity Commission.
John also led walks for the IoW Walking Festival for over 20 years and raised money from those for us. He and his wife Elizabeth hosted our trustee meetings for many years too.
Dorothy & Helen attended John’s wonderful 100th birthday party last year and we are delighted to have his son Nicholas Gurney-Champion carrying on his legacy on our board of trustees .
We are so grateful for the time and energy that he gave to our charity over the years.
John is, and will continue to be, sadly missed.
